(Jan. 12, 2017) — Every day, LCEC is focused on maintaining our role as one of the lowest-cost utilities in Florida, which means LCEC invests in the system for reliable power you can count on.
We try to balance the desire for low rates with the need to reinvest in the electric system in order to reduce power outages and avoid expensive repair or replacement of infrastructure.
LCEC Invests to Maintain Reliability
Demands on the electric system change from day to day due to weather, environmental forces, evolving usage patterns, increasing adaptation of renewable energy, and customer growth.
Utilizing sophisticated analytic tools, planning models, and member investment, LCEC is able to operate and maintain the system and improve reliability year after year. We know that dependability is as important to customers as competitive rates and the mission is to deliver both.
Energy is Critical
When LCEC was established in 1940s an electric distribution cooperative, energy was not considered as critical as it is nowadays. Back then, electricity was considered by many to be more of a luxury. But in today’s world, as nearly everything we do in our everyday lives depends on reliable electricity, LCEC invests where needed to continue to focus on keeping rates as competitive as possible. Tt’s what our members rightfully expect, and is the right thing to do.
Customer Service Driven
LCEC strives to offer customers the best possible experience each and every day, year in and year out since it launched operations in Southwest Florida in 1940. It is one of the distinct qualities that differentiates the not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative. Service is at the core of the business because it is the reason LCEC exists — to serve members, not to make a profit. Quality reliable electric service can be found in the LCEC mission, vision, values and key performance indicators.
